Alistair Rutherford is an Edinburgh based author who writes for the screen, radio, stage and page.

Mostly he writes original stories but he also works closely with producers and directors to develop their projects for film or theatre.

Alistair Rutherford’s latest work is a light-hearted detective thriller novella featuring private detective Dex Delphi, his assistant Samantha and his old batman, Banks.

Set around 1940s Scotland (and further afield) the Dex Delphi books see intrepid sleuth Dex drawn into mysteries that leave the police several steps behind the criminals – keeping the field clear for Dex and his team to save the day!

The first in this exciting new detective series is Dex Delphi and the Gold Mine, which was published by Auld Reekie Writing in April 2015.

Close behind are the Police and it’s up to Dex, his batman Banks and new assistant Samantha to bag the criminals before they flee the country for ever.

Dex Delphi and the Gold Mine is a cosy crime thriller set in London and the Highlands of Scotland during the late 1940s.
